Georges Ferrato (born in 1949 in Aix-en-Provence) is perfect harmony: a universal substance, a resource that we need to fill existence with poetry, peace and construction. The self-taught artist, pushed by his entourage, has been exhibiting for several decades. A "sculptor of light" for the past fifty years, it was the emotion of a landscape in Provence that made him move from expressionist figuration to abstraction.
"If FERRATO's painted work imposed itself naturally, without media fracas or promotional operation, both in France and abroad, it is because he managed to share this inner music that Van Gogh speaks of in his letters." - Joseph Paul Schneider
In 1980, when he arrived at abstraction, his line changed, a total freedom was established, and a new discovery emerged in his works. Colours, elements and materials will intertwine, it will be a new signature of the artist. His invigorating painting becomes food for the mind and heart.

- Tavern, Abstract (1960)By Chuck CloseLocated in Saint Augustine, FLArtist: Chuck Close Title: Tavern Year of Work: 1960 Medium: Oil on Canvas Signature: Signed & Dated Upper Left Dimensions: framed 31 x 25 unframed 30 x 24 Provenance: Chuck Close, Marjorie Dalton (Dear friend of Chuck), Private Collection. Tavern, is truly a rare find, an original oil on canvas, in compelling blues and grays with a touch of gold and orange. This work reveals more imagery and detail the longer one enjoys it. This painting was created during his years studying in Yale Art School, and draws different qualities to each new viewer similar to a Rorschach. Close's work is in the collections of most of the great international museums of contemporary art, including the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York City. and the Tate Modern in London. Artist Bio: Chuck Close – (1940-2021) an American painter, artist and photographer born in Monroe, Washington. Early childhood illnesses including a neuromuscular condition, nephritis and dyslexia were compounded later in life by a condition known as prosopagnosia (face blindness), which may have inspired him to do portraits. Most of his early, large-format portraits are based on photographs, using photorealism or hyperrealism, of family and friends, often other artists. Close often painted abstract portraits of himself and others, which hang in collections internationally. Even though a catastrophic spinal artery collapse in 1988 left him severely paralyzed, he continued to paint inspired by artists like Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. Close's first solo exhibition, held in 1967 at the University of Massachusetts Art Gallery, Amherst, featured paintings, painted reliefs, and drawings based on photographs of record covers. Being much in the mainstream of pop art, a fragment of Close's portrait of singer-songwriter Paul Simon...Category

- Phenomena like Byron by PAUL JENKINS - Abstract Expressionist, colourBy Paul JenkinsLocated in London, GBPhenomena like Byron by PAUL JENKINS (1923-2012) Oil on canvas 74 x 60 cm (29¹/₈ x 23⁵/₈ inches) Signed lower left, Paul Jenkins Signed, titled and dated on the reverse and on the stretcher Executed in 1990, Saint Paul Provenance Waterhouse & Dodd Fine Art, London/New York Private collection, Europe, acquired from the above in 2012 Private collection, Austria Artist biography Born in Kansas City, the multi-media artist, poet and playwright Paul Jenkins began his studies at Kansas City Art Institute and the Art Students League in New York City. After his discharge from military service at the end of February 1946, he briefly studied playwriting with dramatist George McCalmon at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh. Thereafter, Jenkins spent four years studying with Japanese American artist Yasuo Kuniyoshi in New York City. His first solo exhibitions were held at Studio Paul Facchetti in Paris in 1954 and the Martha Graham Gallery in New York City in 1956. Over the past thirty years, numerous retrospectives have been curated across the globe and Jenkins’ work can found in national collections from Europe and the United States to Israel, Australia and Japan. The diversity of Jenkins’ work springs from a wealth of eclectic influences. Some of his earliest works included what he called "interior landscapes", influenced by ancient natural forms. Frequent student visits to the Frick Collection in New York fostered a love of the great masters, and lingering student visits to the renowned Eastern collection of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City evoked powerful sympathy for a monumental Chinese fresco...Category
