About the Item
This is a one of a kind original painting by Gianna Tesone. The painting is 10" x 10" x 1.5" (HxWxD). It is acrylic and oil pastel on burned canvas, it is unframed. There is a hole where the artist set fire to the canvas.
Inspired by the tension of juxtaposition, Tesone's boldly visceral work analyzes the unfolding patterns of human behavior, power of perception, and the cause and effect of free will and is a convergence of design, color psychology, neuroscience, physiology and integrated wellness. This multi-hyphenate perspective elevates the work to serve as a method of story telling and breathes life into its own genre as a synthesis of abstraction and behavioral neuroscience. “Neuro-Expressionism” integrates an epidemiological approach into the creative process and examines how a choice creates mutation and thus, a deviation away from natural design by use of bold color, structural repetition and layering of material.
In her recent work, evidence of prior and current influences introduces a renaissance of reconnection. This explores the understanding of human beings’ relationship with self and the awareness of “visceral” impressions that emotion has on the vital organs and how each manifests itself within the body over time. Using color, deeply layered texture and reference to personal experience and research, this work embodies the connection between the seen and unseen.

Gianna Tesone is an abstract painter and multimedia artist based in Minneapolis. She holds a BFA in Drawing, Painting and Printmaking from Point Loma Nazarene University, where she received grants in the arts and sciences and begun her diverse career path in this field. Over the last five years of her career, Gianna has integrated herself into cross-cultural and interdisciplinary fields such as the fine arts sector, the realm of public events and educational environments. Primarily a fine artist, she has shown her work in various galleries, a museum and city art events. Her impact has expanded by way of public murals, speaking at networking events, teaching workshops, non-profit fundraising, youth educational initiatives and working on collaborative projects. She works other creatives, musicians, designers and entrepreneurs in San Diego, LA, Denver, Aspen, Minneapolis, Miami and NYC.
