A modern, abstract representation of memory. "This painting reflects the unreliable nature of memory," says Gwen. The letters in the composition loosely spell "memory," but also elude to other tangents, as does the rainbow vanishing point beyond layers of other geometric forms.
About the Artist
A fascination with the division of space drives the work of Gwen Gunter. When approaching a new work, she uses both her intuition and a specific spatial vision. After creating a compositional sketch, she adds color and texture. Then she simply lets the painting guide her. Though she doesn't consider herself a huge science buff, she enjoys listening to physicists talk about quantum mechanics and string theory while she works.
