CHAOS
This project is a representation of the life around me right now. All that nonsense and frivolity and chaos and unreasonableness that surround us and control every action we make, is all that I see. There are so many wars that are being fought with no ground and all these tragedies coming one by one followed by Injustice and senseless violence that was formed in our lives suddenly.
And we see all that chaos in everything around us in the Arab world and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. We find distortion in the people, families and Kids. Just yesterday we had a home and a homeland, now it seems we have neither.
What kind of chaos is that?
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hossam Dirar is an Egyptian contemporary artist based in Barcelona, Spain.
He works with painting, video, sound, and installation art, to delve into questions of cultural identity, gender roles and to discuss socio-economic and political ideas.
Born in Cairo, Egypt 1978 where he currently lives and works. Obtained a BA in Fine Art Faculty of Applied Arts, Helwan University, Cairo (graduated with honors, best Graduation project amongst all entries). His later studies included Graphic Design, Painting, Printmaking, Mixed Media, Product Design, Photography, Multimedia and Pottery.
