"Green Forest" Abstract Expressionist Outsider Art in Acrylic on Paper
Dynamic abstract composition by Ian Scowcroft (American, b. 1984). This piece is executed in bold, saturated colors, yet with enough transparency to add depth and interest. The background layers are blue and red, with green over top, creating a strong contrast.
Unsigned, but was acquired from the artist via the Claraty Arts Project.
Presented in a tan mat with foamcore backing.

Ian Scowcroft (American, b. 1984) has been a member of the Claraty Arts Project since 2012, and has explored a variety of media including graphite, pastels, color pencils, three-dimensional art, photography and mixed media. He describes his self-portrait series as his best work. Colorful pastels and energetic strokes combine to represent Mr. Scowcroft in his wheelchair with arms raised in triumph. Scowcroft aims to create art that people will enjoy.
