Created in a live performance at the “Rhythms of Light” exhibition at Portal-11, one of Ukraine’s renowned galleries, is a dynamic abstraction that evokes the presence of angelic figures in motion. Ihor Volkov-Tkachynskyi approaches this work as both a visual and performative exploration, painting expressively over 50 minutes, accompanied by an experimental guitarist whose music drew inspiration from Eastern motifs.
Influenced by Japanese lithography and its flat perspective, the artist constructs a composition where geometric forms and vibrant contrasts interact in a delicate yet energetic balance. The figures emerge and dissolve within the movement of color, symbolizing unseen spiritual guides that accompany and lead humanity toward light.
The work embodies the interplay of rhythm and contrast, where structured geometry meets the fluidity of expressive gesture. Created in Kyiv during the war in 2025, it carries an underlying tension between chaos and harmony, destruction and transcendence. Through this piece, the artist channels both the turbulence of the present and the guiding presence of something eternal.
