About the Item

This work explores the theme of inner struggle and the traps created by the human psyche. Through the lens of Jungian shadow archetype, the artist delves into the deeper layers of the subconscious, where fears, beliefs, and limitations shape the personality. The fish, as a symbol, takes on a multilayered meaning. In both mythological and psychoanalytic contexts, it can embody hidden wisdom and subconscious knowledge, as well as self-destructive impulses that remain beyond the control of consciousness. It is simultaneously a symbol of freedom and entrapment, of rebirth and self-consumption, of instinct and unconscious fear. The Human Ego examines the moment of self-awareness – that critical state in which the individual confronts their true self. This encounter can become a key to inner growth or yet another trap if one fails to recognize personal boundaries and accept internal contradictions. The work poses a question to the viewer: is the ego a saving core or merely an obstacle on the path to authenticity?

I capture the enchanting essence of spring's golden hour, filled with blossoms, vitality, and energy. By wielding brushes and blending bronze dips into rich black fluids, I've crafted a tropical scene set against a natural ecru background.
