About

An original signed acrylic on canvas painting by American artist Jack Graves (1988-) titled "Eden", 2016. Hand titled and signed on verso. Graves spent 6 months completing this exquisite painting. "Eden" features a US McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle fighter jet, a self portrait of the artist Graves himself lower center, and endless colorful intricate border patterns. Canvas size: 30" x 24". Mint condition. Artist's Statement: "This painting exhibits the continual cycle of good vs evil although who really is good or evil? ... it depends on what team you're playing for. This painting is a contradiction of good and bad. The jet both represents the aggressor and the savior ... people hope for peace, yet war always prevails." Jack Graves was born in 1988 in Jacksonville, FL. He spent much of his adolescence in his father's art gallery, Graves International Art, surrounded by a diversity of artworks from Albrecht Durer to Andy Warhol. He began producing works from an early age, and later studied art history and fine art at The Blue Ridge School, Newcastle University in England, and Hampden-Sydney College. At The Blue Ridge School Graves won the Departmental Award for his art, during his tenure at Newcastle University he was selected to produce the artwork for the Annual Ball, and at Hampden- Sydney College he was commissioned to create the cover art for their annual book of poetry, The Garnet. Since 2011, Jack has exhibited throughout The United States and sold to collectors internationally. In recent years Graves has produced album artwork for musicians and created large scale murals for businesses. While completing these commissions he has been diligently honing his skill and attention towards a new art form, “Eclecticism”. Graves states, “An “Eclecticism” work uses two or more different art styles, from the past or what new ones I develop for the future, in best presenting an original artwork.”. Graves seeks to unveil this series of iconoclastic works by early 2017.
