About the Item

These series of paintings are the result of Javier Hinojosa's ongoing research around Modern Architecture in Mexico. Specifically the Tacubaya series are sketches drawn from memory of the sun-roof in Luis Barragan's house and then rendered in a computer program that transforms them into abstract designs that hint to the original building. They are painted on thick MDF panels that make them voluminous and almost sculptural against the wall. These pieces were included in the METATEPALCATES show of the artist at PROYECTO PARALLEL in september of 2017.
