Dimensional Abstract by Jeffery Abouaf (American, b. 1949). Composed of rows of small "scenes," this piece gives the impression of a roll of film, or moments laid out next to one another. Each "scene" is slightly different, pulling the viewer's eye around the composition, searching for patterns.

Born in Oakland, California, Abouaf's interest in art was tempered by a fascination with logic. Abouaf received an MFA from the California College of arts in 1977. He worked on canvases as big as 20 feet wide and 5 feet high, creating abstract visions of hundreds of tiny meticulously drawn figures.
