Jim Seitz
Jim Seitz was born in Chicago and currently resides in Louisiana. He grew up in Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He began showing talent and love for art as a young child, becoming more serious during his college years. During the time he worked for the university, providing medical illustrations for the Science Department, Seitz has traveled extensively throughout his life, living for several years in the Middle East, before moving to South East Asia. His travel experiences have included everything from cave explorations in the mountains of Iran to working in the jungles of New Guinea and Borneo. His preferred medium during that time was ink and watercolor, as it was easy to transport to and from remote locations. While influenced by various 19th-century landscape artists, Seitz has developed a unique technique characterized by the tonal, minimalist representation of his subject matter. Through this approach, less becomes more. His appreciation for color and his creative perspective lend to pieces that are traditional, moving to abstract. His utilization of gold leaf applied over a heavily textured canvas and then glazed with multiple layers of acrylics provides an effect that is quickly becoming this artist’s signature style. Seitz’s work has been broadly displayed and hangs in private and corporate collections both at home and abroad.

- Tango Pants #7 by Mel Rea, Acrylic and Pastel on Torn CanvasBy Mel ReaLocated in Atlanta, GAMel began her artistic career as a devoted clay sculptor. However, as time passed, she began to long for a change. Several years back she explored new options while exhausting more mediums than she can recall. It was during this period that she discovered a small batch of beeswax left behind from the last of her grandfather's beehives. Mel's grandfather, Sam Sekerak, spent his childhood in Russia where he was inspired to build an apiary farm. His dream came true as an adult in the States where he built and farmed his own set of beehives. As a young girl, Mel felt such a sense of peace walking amongst her grandfather's hives. She developed a very deep connection, respect, and appreciation for Mother Nature. Like many artists, she is a constant source of inspiration. This connection along with that old batch of beeswax is what led my transition away from clay and into encaustic painting (painting with molten beeswax). She is grateful for the intense labors of the beautiful honeybee, and consider beeswax a unique gift to be treasured. As a strange twist of fate, her name is translated in the Greek word for "honeybee". She loves traditional Japanese pottery and contemporary Japanese painting. The soft satin finish of the beeswax along with the ability to incise elegant clean lines, was just what she'd longed to achieve. While many Japanese works of art...Category

- My Home Town by Judith Williams contemporary collage abstract on canvasBy Judith WilliamsLocated in Atlanta, GA"My torn paper shapes are put together like large remains of sculpture being reassembled. My initial thoughts are on pure shape. The unusual shapes coming together in their raw simplistic form, how they interact with each other, the shapes creating their own language. I let them stand alone in their purest form. The way they come together in the space helps ground them, giving a friction of sorts, a system, a world built around the forms, a quiet place within. I love large inviting spaces, as if to say, “Come here, I’m here to comfort you.” I am creating a space where you find a soothing uncluttered balance. I want you to like the stillness there. So every piece of work has a piece of me in it, my personality, my love of spaciousness and calm. I am totally aware of every aspect of the work and in the moment, concentrating on that one moment in time—the Now. It is my desire that the sense of peace, harmony, and stillness is communicated to you." Judith Williams...Category
