About the Item
Robert Gamblin’s intent as an artist is to reach for transcendence through his color-centric oil paintings that capture the majesty of light as it graces the Earth. In this series, old-growth Sitka spruce trees from the UNESCO Cascade Head Biosphere reserve in the forests of the Pacific Northwest serve as his inspiration, with individual strong colors chosen to depict and celebrate the tree’s individual personality, its story, and our reciprocal connection to it and to all of nature.
Robert is also the founder of Gamblin Artist Colors, an international brand that has made a major contribution to the practice of painting through the development of fine art materials that have also made oil painting safer for artists.
