John McCaw's (US based) "Abstract Landscape" is an abstract mixed media painting that depicts stark bright green and red shapes intersecting and weaving together, accented with black and yellow.
John McCaw (b. 1967), the eldest son of American expressionist Dan McCaw and brother to painter Danny McCaw, was raised in an environment of art and artist. Being exposed to this type of environment, John found respect and value in many forms of art. Working closely with his father and brother and surrounded by books, art and creative discussions, John has developed a unique vision. Absorbing his environment, painters of the past and present, and placing no limits on his imagination, John brings to his canvas not only his sensitivities but also his heart. The emphasis on strong design, simple shapes, variety of surfaces and sensitive color has enabled John to create well-balanced visually stimulating art.

Pages of old dictionaries and collage papers add points of interest to the composition. "This painting is purely an abstracted reference to places I have sketched on location," says Patrick.
About the Artist
Patrick O'Boyle primarily paints in a studio, rarely using reference material other than his own thoughts and dreams. He always paints in a series of five - at the end of the fifth painting he revisits and reworks all of them until he feels they're complete. Using extra-long handles on his brushes, Patrick paints at a distance from the canvas so he can see the works evolve as a whole from the one color he starts with to the vibrant array at the end.
