GRAU-GARRIGA, Josep (San Cugat del Valles, 1928 - Angers, 2011).
Grau-Garriga was a Catalan artist, muralist and one of the innovators of contemporary tapestry, whose work is in the best museums in the world. After training in painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking in the early years of his artistic activity (1940) made some paintings and mosaic in his homeland who remain in the Ermita de Sant Measure or at the Parish Church of Sant Genis. In the 1950s he joined the company work on carpets and tapestries, House Aymat Miquel Samaranch, where he became artistic director and worked with artists such as Joan Miró, Josep Maria Subirachs and Antoni Tàpies. His first solo exhibition of tapestries held at the Sala Gaspar in Barcelona 19644 and thereafter continued with multiple exposures in European capitals and the United States. The Aymat House in Contemporary Tapestry Museum-House Aymat, remains an important part of his work, as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona. In the rest of the world, his work is part of the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum in New York,
