Aceder is a contemporary abstract acrylic painting by Cuban artist Juan Lazaro. The name of the piece, “Aceder” means “Dude” in Spanish Slang; if you look closely, the loose strokes in the center of the painting resemble the form of a figure! inspired by the vibrant colors of a Caribbean sunset, This piece features Lazaro’s signature ballpoint pen and atop acrylic paint. Truly a unique piece: a vibrant abstract collage of paint and common materials that create a fine piece.

Born in Manuel, Cuba in 1973, Juan Lazaro is a painter who focuses his vision on the bicycle. His abstract works with forms floating on a virtually monochrome ground are evocative of the 20th century inventions of Paul Klee. It is the intriguing puzzle of these forms that draws the viewer into the works where enigmas and paradoxes confound the senses. Lazaro deconstructs the universal bicycle into colorful parts that splash out onto the viewer.
