ABOUT THE ARTIST Juan Pita (Madrid-Spain) is graduated as an architect in the Superior Technical school of Architecture of Madrid and, as a painter, at the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando (Madrid). He is also an etcher, a cartoonist -with work published in the most prestigious magazines in Spain- and, at times, an industrial designer. As a painter he employs a wide range of techniques considering that each procedure is a different language with which to communicate: acrylic and oil painting, collage and mixed media, pencil and charcoal drawing, pen and pastel; and etching and silk-screen printing. In his current periode he has also incorporated collages and mixed media digital images created with graphic design programs, and has experimented with painting on three dimensional media of his own design. His work reflects the importance given to the knowledge and use of materials and procedures, as well as to the traditional painting techniques, that the author has studied in depth not only during his training, but over many trips and visits to museums, art collections and galleries worldwide. He has held a large number of individual and collective exhibitions as well as international art fairs, and won several prizes and awards, having his art shown in museums, public institutions and private collections in Europe and America.
