About the Item

Untitled Abstract Expressionist Artist signed lower right corner, Mixed Media on canvas. Julia Habrat was born in 1997 in Kraków Poland, She graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Poznan, where she majored in Painting and Drawing. Since 2018, her work has been showcased in exhibitions across Poland, Germany, and New York City. In 2023, she moved to New York City to further pursue her artistic aspirations. Her practice focuses on oil paint and mixed media, exploring themes of femininity and bodily existence. Specializing in organic-abstract paintings, Julia use large-scale canvases to navigate self-discovery and express her evolving understanding of identity. Through her art, she delve into the intricate mind-body connection—a concept she find difficult to articulate in words. I intentionally leave my works untitled, inviting viewers to interpret them freely and engage with their own reflections. My process is meticulous, often taking months to complete a single piece. By layering thin coats of paint, I create depth and texture, drawing viewers into compositions that combine media and techniques to mirror my personal healing journey. My work is an ongoing dialogue with myself, exploring what it means to be a woman. The predominant use of black reflects feelings of lacking confidence and the struggle for self-acceptance I experienced in my home country, while shades of pink embody a feline quality—a representation of femininity, softness, and resilience. At its core, my art seeks to spark contemplation about identity, freedom, and transformation. Each piece is a visual exploration of embracing femininity, finding peace, and learning to flow with life’s currents."

Freedom
Located in Lake Worth Beach, FL
Freedom 2022 Paulina Robotycka is a color psychologist: each color in a painting corresponds to specific human feelings both positive and negative. The apparent lack of color harmony involving strong contrasts are associated with emotions that often contradict each other. The artist’s compositions are a map of human feelings sometimes intricate, and sometimes transparent. Born in 2000 in Gdansk, Poland. As of 2019, she is studying Psychology at the University of Gdansk. She is a self-taught painter. She primarily does easel and monumental painting. In her works we can find references to color plane painting...

Untitled I Abstract
By Agata Koczan
Located in Lake Worth Beach, FL
Untitled I Abstract Composition from a Series III. Agata Koczan graduated from the University of Fine Arts Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun, Poland. Graduated with honors in paintings and visual arts 2014. She is a young emerging artist exhibiting in Europe. Her work is visually captivating with great details and movement. Artist Statment: On the surface, these images do not represent anything. They’re compilations of color patches and lines. However, the forms that these two basic components take, create new entities and a variety of paths for interpretation. A patch is the pure color of the background. It’s a vibrating color, living its own, intense life. It’s also a background for the line drawing. In my painting, I decided to treat these two elements as one. The lines are as intense in color as the patches. The line is no longer just a drawing; it’s an equal component of the painting, it creates the painting with its color. While painting, I always kept the same order of applying the paint, so that the line evenly covers the patch, and, observed from a sufficient distance, becomes a patch itself. This creates a kind of optical illusion. Our site has to adapt to drizzle, to a peculiar noise caused by the equivalent of all the elements of the painting whose planes permeate. This mutual permeation enlivens the elements of the painting which seem to vibrate, become liquid and lively. And it was this effect of liquidity that inspired me. I was wondering how to convey the movement of not only water but of everything that lives and grows, of everything that is natural. I decided that multiplication, repeatability of the theme and the equal character of these features will be the common features that to a great extent will present my interests. The „Noise” series is strictly inspired by nature. One could say that the series represents nature, but it’s a representation so deeply reduced that the true forms of real things disperse and blur, revealing their true meaning.” Exhibition: "Interference", WMiI Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun 2016 "Image Open", Gallery Brda, Bydgoszcz 2015 "Noise", Gallery of the Vistula River, Torun 2014 "Balc" Black Hole Gallery, Toruń 2010 Exhibition of paintings, Mount Blanc...

By Michael Goldberg
Located in Austin, TX
Waterline Fine Art, Austin, TX is pleased to present the following work: Oil, pastel, and paper collage on canvas. Signed and dated verso. 52.75 x 47.75 in. 54 x 49 in. (framed) Gilded floater frame. Provenance Compass Rose, Chicago Born Sylvan Irwin Goldberg in 1924 and raised in the Bronx, Michael Goldberg was an important figure in American Abstract Expressionism, who began taking art classes at the Art Students League in 1938. A gifted student, Goldberg finished high school at the age of 14 and enrolled in City College. He soon found New York’s jazz scene to be a more compelling environment, and he began skipping classes in favor of the Harlem jazz clubs near campus. Goldberg’s love of jazz would become a lifelong passion and a key component to his approach to composition in his paintings. From 1940 to 1942, like many of the leading artists of the New York School, Goldberg studied with Hans Hofmann. In 1943, he put his pursuit of painting on hold and enlisted in the U.S. Army. Serving in North Africa, Burma, and India, Goldberg received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star before being discharged in 1946. After his service, he traveled and worked in Venezuela before returning to the United States, settling back in New York and resuming studies with Hofmann and at the Art Students League. Living downtown and frequenting the Cedar Bar, Goldberg befriended many of the artists of the New York School. In 1951, his work was included in the groundbreaking Ninth Street Show, co-organized by Leo Castelli, Conrad Marca-Relli, and the Eighth Street Club, and featuring the work of - among others - Hofmann, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, and Franz Kline. In 1953, the Tibor de Nagy...
