Jutta Naim
Naim’s large-scale abstract paintings are monochromatic, tactile, and highly personal in nature. Working with plaster on wood, Naim opts to use her hands to apply ink, chalk, charcoal, graphite and pigments to the ‘breathing body’ of the painting surface. The result is organic, both in temperament and process. Shapes and lines are continually buried and excavated in order to reveal the dark and light, the visible and invisible. search of living a more meaningful live." Jutta Naim Born in 1942 and raised in Germany, Naim has lived most of her adult life in Canada and only recently returned to live in Canada once again. She is a retired psychoanalytic psychotherapist, and has painted for the past twenty years. Naim has exhibited in Israel since 1995 and in Canada since 2014. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries in Israel between 1995-2005 and is displayed in private homes in Israel, Germany, and Canada.
