About the Item
Karen Kuo (b.1993, USA) is a Taiwanese-American artist whose paintings explore the ephemera of light and color in architectural and imagined spaces. Her work is driven by an eagerness to align inner spiritual life with the sublimity of nature. Kuo’s dirt sphere collection is the result of meditation sessions whereby she sources dirt locally, then sifts, hand shapes, and polishes them into smooth shiny palm-sized globes. Her observations of natural phenomena translates into drawings, paintings, and sculptures that dwell upon hidden dimensions and fantasy worlds. Karen lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
