Kate Kelleher
Finding Our Stars abstract painting by British artist Kate Kelleher

2020

About the Item

Kate shares this painting was pure joy to work on. The rust elements reflect a changing world-our environment. The colours in the oil paint and abstract landscape as well as the butterflies show an ever hopeful ideology that everything will be alright. Kate really loves the illuminating light that catches the gold leaf, giving a science that the paint is almost floating on the surface, this of course changes as the days, weeks, seasons change. Gold leaf, metal filings, acid, oil and acrylics on board ABOUT KATE KELLEHER Kate Kelleher is a self-taught artist, she began her career as a homeware buyer for Heal's, a contemporary furniture company in the UK. Her experience there developed her keen eye on what works well in contemporary stylish interiors. This would later go on to influence her artistic style, especially the interplay amongst colours. Growing up in the English countryside her other love is nature, taking inspiration from its constant flux year after year. Her contemporary abstract paintings are inspired by the elements in nature, minerals and the environment around. Kate exhibited with Artfully Sorted at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea in 2020. We have found many homes for her art and they bring stunning textures and illumination to our clients' walls. Kate works well to commissions.
