Katherine Filice
Katherine Filice allows you to pull out of her works what you see and does not layer any expectations on her viewers. Filice's works are all deeply personal works, ones she pours hundreds of hours into. She is an internationally awarded and collected artist, participating in art fairs in Hong Kong, Belgium, New York and LA. Her most recent fair was “ArtCan,” where she exhibited a six-foot tall layered work, whose studies on for sale. Filice is best known for her unique approach to meditative line making. Using primarily a fine-point Rapidograph technical pen, she explores the human experience with a provocative and unexpected dialogue. Filice pushes the technical possibilities of a simple curved line while asking us to think more deeply and share more openly as she exposes not only the creative zeitgeist of her inner world but our collective spiritual awakening. Filice's background features traditional fine art education in conjunction with a long career as a creative director, graphic artist and designer. She has received over 100 national and international awards, personally and with her team, for commercial work in design, painting, writing and photography. Additionally, Filice holds a BS degree in organizational leadership from the University of San Francisco and is an Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society lifetime member. Her education and work experience have driven much of her exploration of human relationships. After decades of quietly creating, Filice's contemporary art career exploded when she was selected to exhibit at the prestigious ArtRooms London exhibition in 2018. Shortly thereafter, her highly provocative series “The Secrets We Keep” was featured in a two-month solo exhibit at the Gilroy Center for the Arts. Filice also participated as an invited exhibitor in the “Asia Contemporary Art Show” in Hong Kong in October 2018, with her work Birth featured as one of the top ten outstanding artworks. In early 2019, Filice’s works Birth and I Remember were selected as finalists for the 2019 International Artist Grand Prize Art Revolution show in Taipei, juried from over 4,200 submissions. She was also awarded the 2019 Startup SF Best Artist 3rd Place Award and received an Apero Curator Review Award for I Remember.

- Abstract 64 - Contemporary Abstract Painting w/ Stunning Brushstrokes (Black)By Helen BellaverLocated in Gilroy, CA"Abstract 64," is a contemporary Abstract painting by San Jose-based artist Helen Bellaver. In this work, Helen layers a medium onto her canvas or paper to create a subtle texture, which she then layers her acrylic paint on to create depth and detail. This work creates a sense of energy as the eye is drawn to the rich black and relieved by golden tones of cream as it intertwines itself into the foreground of the painting. Helen Bellaver is an abstract expressionist living in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she has been practicing for the last thirty years. Her work has evolved into expressions of black. To the artist, black brings her a sense of calm and is at the forefront of her works. She uses it as her foreground, and in the background, she has layers of creams, whites, blues, ochres, browns, reds, etc. The mark-making in her works comes directly from the genre of Abstract Expressionism...Category

- Shaped Collage Painting in Carved Wood Frame Iranian American Contemporary ArtLocated in Surfside, FLAndisheh Avini Iranian-American (b. 1974) Untitled III (2007) Collage of Arabic or Persian Islamic calligraphic script texts. Artist shaped frame Signature stamp and I-20 (New York) gallery label verso Image: 25.25" H x 18.5" W; frame: 27.5" H x 21" W x 1.5" D. Andisheh Avini was born in 1974 in New York. Educated at Hunter College in New York, he has shown consistently in solo and group exhibitions since 2002, including locations in New York, Berlin, Los Angeles, Basel, Madrid and Paris. He currently lives and works in New York. Through his abstract paintings, drawings and sculptures he finds the sweet spot where minimalism, Pop Art, and the political collide. Andisheh Avini is known for his patterned silkscreen painting created on carpet and wood, which are informed by the history and culture of Iran. Avini frequently takes familiar political images and recontextualizes them, prompting the viewer to consider Middle Eastern politics from another perspective. Blending the visual vocabulary of his Iranian heritage with aesthetic and material experimentation, Avini’s work offers a meditation on the experiences and memories that shape our identities. He has used a variety of exotic materials including marquetry or Khatam – a traditional Iranian craft of inlaid wood, crystalline protrusions of actual minerals, peacock feathers, mother-of-pearl and parchment often in abstract geometric compositions, mediums associated with traditional Persian craft— with nods towards Minimalism, Abstract Expressionism, and other Western art movements. He has shown in many prominent galleries including solo exhibitions at Marianne Boesky Gallery (New York), Galerie Frank...Category
