This is a one of a kind original oil painting by San Diego artist, Kathleen Kane-Murrell. Its dimensions are 24"x36"x1.5". A certificate of authenticity will follow delivery.
The patterns presented in "Canyon, Spring" emulate the sharp turns and fluid bends of the most basic natural elements: water and earth. Terracotta and red-orange shapes contrast vividly against the cool blues and purples which create the shadows behind the topmost mosaic layer. Following the patterns leads the viewer on a journey through a buzzing ecosystem of shape and color.
Kane-Murrell’s work investigates the human experience as but one aspect of the natural world. She reflects “My work is abstractly narrative. I aim between spontaneous and controlled…patinas of layered mark-making reflect my perception of light, color, and sound. When a viewer reaches to touch my work to understand what is seen, I have achieved an elusive goal.”
