About the Item
Several years ago my nine year old daughter told me that she had had a dream that she was painting a mural with Gandhi. Ever since then, being a painter, I always referred back to that dream. What would it mean to paint with Gandhi? I decided to paint an abstract expressionistic painting incorporating words that are juxtaposed against the purity of abstraction. This is part of a series entitled, MESSAGES, which uses the written word in the form of Koans, quotes, and odd sentences.
