About the Item
Tulip Field is part of an evolving series inspired by the shifting seasons, capturing the essence of the European landscape through abstraction. Like its companion piece, Seaside, where there is a starting horizon line that unfolds and expands outward, it is influenced by the artist’s mood and the passage of time. The composition features yellow to suggest sunlight, with areas of white clouds against a breezy sky. The reds and pinks represent rows of tulips in bloom. Each hand-drawn line is 1 - 2 millimetres in thickness. The lines are next to each other to cover the entire surface in a controlled drawing process. The colours are used at their fullest intensity. The idea of placing colours next to each other is inspired by the likes of Seurat, who used dots of colour to create paintings. This dogmatic approach is meditative in its repetitiveness, as well as a mental challenge in concentration. Framed in white wood frame with UV acrylic. Overall framed size is 90 x 62 x 3cm. Signature is on the back of the art.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Laura Waldusky is an American artist living in the UK, known for her innovative works on paper that blend drawing and sculpture. She holds an MFA from Parsons School of Design in Design and Technology and a BFA from Texas Tech University in Studio Art. Her art has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across the USA, UK, and EU. Laura's process is both meticulous and spontaneous, starting with colour pencils on heavy cotton paper. She builds up each piece with repetitive, evolving lines, exploring abstract patterns that gradually transform through her meditative, line-by-line technique entirely done by hand. The work challenges traditional boundaries of drawing, embracing unpredictability and craftsmanship to invite viewers into a world where structure meets fluidity, and precision meets play.
