Artist Len Klikunas paints to modify experienced reality through visual perception. His art is a mix of art and architecture, hovering between painting and sculpture. It employs shizen (自然): the Japanese concept of naturalness, absence of pretense, or artificiality. Material is stretched over a supporting three-dimensional framework, like a tent, and coated with paint.
This multi-dimensional 30-inch high, 21-inch wide, and 3.5-inch deep post-minimalist artwork is wired and ready to hang. It is created with mixed media on canvas, stretched over a three-dimensional wooden form. The sides of this artwork are finished by the artist as a continuation of the front, and it does not require framing. The artist signs and titles the artwork on the back. It can be installed vertically as well as horizontally. Free delivery is available for those in the local Los Angeles area, and affordable worldwide shipping is available for US and international art collectors. A certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery is included.
Klikunas focuses on the larger idea behind his original abstract minimalist artworks. The work is characterized by “mindful artlessness” and simplicity. Leroy W. Parker (American, b. 1941) is an artist from Oklahoma who now resides in Lafayette, California. Parker earned his BFA in painting from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1966, and then went on to earn his MFA in 1968 from the same institution. He is a Professor of Art at San Jose State University. He has taught classes in fine arts, life drawing, ceramics, paper making (which he instituted in 1984), and sculpture since 1969. Parker has also served on the State Art Commission for sculptural grants. One of his pieces is held in the San Jose Museum of Art.

Artist’s Statement:
I was born in Eagletown, Oklahoma to Southern Baptist parents, and my father was a preacher. We were two boys and six girls in the family. The most mundane things were magical and special to me. I liked to draw, color, make things, and plant things. I loved the woods and the earth, and watching storms with thunder and lightning.
