Inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s ready-made objects, “Rainshower” is actually an environmentally conscious and up-cycled object. The artist was walking in his neighborhood in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City, when he found a brand new bookshelf on the street that was to be thrown away. The white bookshelf had several nice, clean, and blank white boards which the artist could not bear to see go to waste. So he took several of the bookshelvess with the intent of painting them. One of the results is “Rainshower,” which is not only a representation of the essence of rain, water, umbrella, downpouring, but also a show of color and a clever way of turning a few simple colors into a mix of complex and brilliant colors that compliment each other. “Rainshower” is a bright and colorful piece of art that deserves a second chance and a loving home.
