About the Item

Untitled, 2017, Oil on Canvas, 30 x 40 Inches A brilliantly colored, gorgeous and lush abstraction, very expressionist and fluid in style in orange, yellow, aqua, green and white. There are many available related square works in this series in 30" x 30" and 36" x 36", as well as a large series of 8" x 8" paintings, so groupings are also a possibility for installations. The artist also considers the 8" x 8" paintings as studies for larger works that can be commissioned in any size. The paint surface is heavy impasto. This painting is unframed. The sides are painted white. "Linda Holt: Recent Abstractions" will be on view at the Beth Urdang Gallery in Boston from September 21 - October 27, 2018. Linda Holt was raised in Philadelphia and lived in England, Alabama and Virginia before attending the Paris American High School and graduating from Skidmore College with a BS in fine art in 1970. She received an MFA in Painting from the University of Pennsylvania where she studied with Neil Welliver. Holt’s paintings have been seen in 19 one-person exhibitions, over 50 group exhibitions, and in addition to numerous private collections, Holt’s paintings are included in many public collections including the Wichita Center for the Arts, Wellington Management, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Fidelity Investments, Mass General Hospital, and the Seaport and Reef Hotels. Selected reviews include articles in “The Boston Globe,” “Art New England,” and the “Houston Chronicle.” Holt was awarded the Nathaniel Saltonstall Purchase Prize in Drawing, has been a Trustee and Visiting Artist at Montserrat College, a Guest Critic at FIT in New York, and a Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania. The artist resides on the North Shore of Massachusetts and has been represented by the Beth Urdang Gallery since 1995.

PRISMATIC SERIES #2 VERMILLION/YELLOW/TURQUOISE
By Linda Jacobson
Located in Palm Desert, CA
The Prismatic Series is based on light, movement and color, abstract paintings expressing the changing qualities of the external world, without any limitations of form. Prismatic Series #2 is painted with many layers of oil glazes over acrylic washes to create luminous color. On gallery wrapped canvas. Linda Jacobson's paintings are lyrical abstractions inspired by her love of landscape and its elements: form, movement, light, and what she perceives to be its essence an energy or quality that goes beyond visual appearance. Born in Los Angeles, she received her BFA from California State College, Northridge, and graduated Summa cum Laude from the prestigious Art Center College of Design where she was mentored by pioneer California modernist Lorser Feitelson. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the United States and abroad, including MRG Fine Art, in Los Angeles; Gallerie Rohling, Berlin, Germany; California State University Channel Islands in Ventura; Karpeles Museum in Santa Barbara, California; BG Gallery in Santa Monica; George Lawson...

Vibrant Green Blue Orange Abstract, Painting, Acrylic on Canvas
By Robert Lynn
Located in Yardley, PA
Oct. 2020. 36 x 36 x 1.5 inches. Unframed Acrylic Painting-Ready to hang-sides will be painted a Greenish tone to match the painting. (16 layers) Gallery Wrapped Cotton Canvas. Textured/Layered Abstract Painting. Painted with palette knives. I added several layers of primer before adding my main layers. I have used 2 Blue hues and 2 Green hues as the main colors for this painting. Then I started to focus on the abstract lines & patterns I wanted to create. I decided to create some whimsical abstract strokes which gave me more ideas to use on this painting. I have used additional colors such as Red, 2 shades of Orange, Gold, and a Teal Blue as the additional whimsical abstract accent color lines and patterns. There are small touches of Gold in the Teal section of the painting. There are small details that are hard to pick up with my photographs. The painting can be hung 4 different directions - so there is 2 Vertical hangings and 2 Horizontal hangings. Felt pads included on backside corners. Signed on the backside and Certificate of Authenticity included with the painting 1/1. ***PLEASE note: Lighting will make a huge difference in the mood of this painting-as with any painting. Overhead/Canned/Spot Lighting...
