About the Item
SUNDOG 12 is an acrylic on canvas painting belonging to the Sundog series inspired by the meteorological phenomenon of Sundogs (parhelia), occurrences of bright spots straddling the Sun in a 22° halo.
The painting consists of triangular and quadrilateral forms in different hues of red, orange, green, and grey. Some spheres in SUNDOG 12 were additionally illuminated to highlight the dynamic and asymmetric relationship between the forms. Worth noticing, is that the tape used in the process of line creation was medical grade tape – although unintentionally, it can remind us of the Covid-19 isolation, during which the series were created.
SUNDOG 12 was featured in Linda King Ferguson’s solo exhibition Kissing the Sky at the Channel To Channel Gallery.
