This vibrant fiber artwork features sheer, layered fabrics in a glowing spectrum of jewel tones, citrus brights, and soft pastels. The geometric composition is both hand- and machine-stitched, creating a tactile rhythm of seams, textures, and transparency. Linda Kamille Schmidt uses no paint—color is built entirely through fabric, offering a painterly effect through textile alone. A third-generation seamstress, Schmidt embraces both precision and play, merging fine art with domestic craft traditions. Linda Schmidt is a painter and fiber artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She is originally from Kansas and received an MA in drawing and an MFA in painting from the University of Iowa.
