Silk, Thread, Synthetic Polymer, Enamel, on Wood and Wood Structures. Silk organza is stretched over custom designed wood stretcher bars to create an ethereal and translucent painting surface. Behind this surface, wood constructions are visible. Layers of paint, stitched thread, light and shadow are the essential elements of these paintings and their three dimensional nature. These paintings draw their influence from the natural world. I focus on the way light moves through the colors and shapes of an untouched landscape and try to incorporate these elements into a work of art.
