Vintage magenta abstract by Maureen Fenton-Hanson a Monterey artist (American, 1946-2007). Signed "Fenton" and dated "74" lower right and on verso. Unframed. Image size, 30"H x 22.5"W. Acrylic on paper with machine sewn thread design.
Maureen Fenton-Henson was born in Rochester, NY on May 20, 1946, and raised in Montebello, CA.
She received her BA in Art at SDSU and Masters of Fine Art in Lithography at UCSB. Maureen was an abstract artist who, through her 30-year artistic career, used her art to express universal sentiments via multi-media collage. In the latter part of Maureen's life calligraphy assumed increasing importance as a mode of articulation.
Maureen taught art at Hartnell College and exhibited locally and nationally.
