Maximo Caminero (Dominican, Born 1962). An original mixed media painting on canvas. Oil and other elements. Titled, "Yang." An Industrial art work painted in a heavy palette with a central abstract mechanical form over a yellow background with other colors. Artist signature CAMINERO to lower right. Artist name and title with additional work details to stretched canvas verso. Presented in a fitted wood frame.

Maximo Caminero
Maximo Caminero was born in the Dominican Republic in 1962. His work is based on the ancestral Taino culture. The versatility of his paintings goes through the Caribbean horizon, touching, without hiding, the African legacy. His work does not have the spiritual and religious support that other renowned artists like Wifredo Lam or José Bedia had. He only captures the physical essence of faraway desires. Supported by several critics of prestige, his works have been auctioned in notable auction houses in America and several pieces have been acquired by North American museums.
In 2014, Caminero destroyed a colored vase by the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei in protest at Pérez Art Museum Miami's lack of displays by local artists. The value of the vase was estimated at $1 million. Caminero was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal mischief.

Malgosia Kiernozycka was born in Wroclaw, Poland. She graduated high school at the School of Fine Arts and received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art for the University of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. She studied glass design under Prof Witkowski and painting under Prof Wanda Golkowska. She received her master’s degree along with an award. Sergio was born in Cordoba, Argentina, in 1934. He studied at National School of Fine Arts, the National Academy, and the Superior School of Art in Buenos Aires. In the late 1950's he began to collaborate with a group of contemporary Argentinean artist interested in Op art. The group moved to Paris and Sergio was able to rejoin them with students support from the French government.
Aware of the creative differences amongst the group, in 1960, he moved To Munich where he received a grant from the German government to study etching in the House der Kunst. In 1962 he returned to Paris continuing to create paintings, etchings and woodblocks.
A lifetime of spiritual and cultural influences is reflected in Moyano's work, which in turn mirrors...
