About the Item

Oil and spray paint on wood panel (colors: teal black orange hot pink blue) Mirtha Moreno Born in Havana, Cuba, in the late 70s during a well-documented time of religious and political oppression, abstract expressionist artist Mirtha Moreno, immigrated to the United States as a child in 1980. Raised in South Florida amongst a growing Hispanic population, she received recognition for her natural artistic talent and passion from an early age. This form of expression became a way to convey the thoughts and emotions that arose from her experiences as a young Cuban exile. Working in oil and acrylic, Moreno’s pieces are often aesthetically influenced by images found in her dreams and surroundings. Her abstract style evokes the feeling of movement and drama.
