About the Item
Midnight at the Beach is a 2016 contemporary abstract painting by Nancy Pantirer. This painting captures the essence of staring into the ocean horizon at dusk. The artist uses primarily cool colors to represent the chill of the seaside at night. Mist rises and swirls above the blue waters which drip with white foam. You can almost hear the waves crash.

Artist Biography:
Nancy Bergman Pantirer’s paintings and sculptures have been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions throughout the country and can be found in collections such as the University of Hartford, as well as corporate and private collections. She also had works for public art installations displayed in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, and Connecticut.
Nancy received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, as well as a Master of Arts from Montclair State College. She further refined her craft through graduate coursework at Tufts University Museum School in Boston and Pratt University in New York.
“My work is primarily an investigation in visual thinking. The relationships of color, surface, composition, as well as experience, are addressed in the exercise of creating each painting…The variables in this investigation are color, arrangements, and rearrangements that offer the viewer a new visual understanding,” said Nancy.
