About the Item
Unfinished Business is a large 2022 contemporary collage painting by NYC-based artist Nancy Pantirer. It features nude, subdued colors overlaid with pasted sheets of parchment. The parchment is rough around the edges, exposing its fibers, and giving it a raw and "unfinished" feel. The colors themselves are separated with harsh lines, reminiscent of brutalism. The acrylic paint is layered on to give it a dripping and weathered effect.

Artist Biography:
Nancy Bergman Pantirer’s paintings and sculptures have been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions throughout the country and can be found in collections such as the University of Hartford, as well as corporate and private collections. She also had works for public art installations displayed in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, and Connecticut.
Nancy received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, as well as a Master of Arts from Montclair State College. She further refined her craft through graduate coursework at Tufts University Museum School in Boston and Pratt University in New York.
“My work is primarily an investigation in visual thinking. The relationships of color, surface, composition, as well as experience, are addressed in the exercise of creating each painting…The variables in this investigation are color, arrangements, and rearrangements that offer the viewer a new visual understanding,” said Nancy.
