About the Item
"Washing Immersing" is a 2015 abstract acrylic on silk by Nancy Bergman Pantirer. The primary colors in this piece are gold contrasting with light grey. As a foil to the gold steaks, the artist underlies it with green/turquoise blue to make it stand out even more. Pantirer believes in giving paint its own life, so expertly manipulates the gold, yellows, and greys in a way that lets the colors flow organically.

Artist Biography:
Nancy Bergman Pantirer’s paintings and sculptures have been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions throughout the country and can be found in collections such as the University of Hartford, as well as corporate and private collections. She also had works for public art installations displayed in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, and Connecticut.
Nancy received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, as well as a Master of Arts from Montclair State College. She further refined her craft through graduate coursework at Tufts University Museum School in Boston and Pratt University in New York.
“My work is primarily an investigation in visual thinking. The relationships of color, surface, composition, as well as experience, are addressed in the exercise of creating each painting…The variables in this investigation are color, arrangements, and rearrangements that offer the viewer a new visual understanding,” said Nancy.
