About the Item
This contemporary abstract expressionist interior painting with vivid colors was created by the French artist Natalya Mougenot. Story 0.1 belongs to her most recent series, Heart-Mind Connection—a visual and emotional exploration of the inner space where thought and feeling converge.
In this work, Mougenot contemplates the concept of personal freedom: the quiet power of living without internal or external limitations, and the beauty of following one’s truth beyond societal expectations or imposed beliefs.
Dominated by deep and vibrant shades of blue, the painting evokes a sense of depth, introspection, and emotional release. Accents of other bold colors pulse through the composition, but it is the expressive blues that guide the viewer inward, suggesting calm, clarity, and intuitive flow.
A high gloss varnish enhances the richness of the colors while protecting the surface from dust, fading, and humidity. The work is painted on gallery-wrapped canvas with edges finished in black, giving it a sleek, modern look that is ready to hang—no framing required.
Story 0.1 is a one-of-a-kind, original painting, signed on the front and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. For collectors seeking a larger impact, it can be paired with other pieces from the Heart-Mind Connection series to form a dynamic diptych or triptych.
The artwork will be carefully packaged with professional-grade materials and shipped in a secure cardboard box with protective layers. Please note that colors may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.

Born in Kazakhstan and now based in Lyon, Natalya Mougenot draws deeply from her multicultural background and personal journey. Her bold yet tender style has earned her a place in private collections around the world, celebrated for its emotional truth and timeless simplicity.
Natalya is a contemporary artist from Lyon, France. She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes and low mountains. She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country. She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis when she was struggling with radical life changes. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now. Several years ago painting became more than a hobby. It became a way of expressing her emotions and visions, a successive reaction to events of either personal or general concern. Her artist statement: “ I paint as it’s a necessity for my soul to express itself. Being creative for me is overcoming the restrictions. My art is a piece of my soul. I hope my art inspires reflection, provides a release and forms connection at other people’s souls”. She has developed her own vision of art through practicing a lot. She makes use of varying degrees of figuration, abstraction and impressionism by adding a contemporary twist. Abstract art for her is an interesting challenge for understanding inner feelings, a self-expression based on an intuitive approach. In figurative art her main subject remains women. Her artworks representing women contain the raw emotions of women. She also communicates the importance and the power of strong female relationships: “Women are enriched when they bond with each other”. She works in series: among them are "Heart-mind connection" of abstract artworks, "Women", "Bond", "Florals", "Springtime"... She uses various mediums ( acrylic, oil, watercolor, oil pastels) to create her unique artworks either on canvas or on paper. But she mainly uses acrylic as she works very quickly and expressively by finishing her artwork in one sitting. If Natalya had to pick one quote about her art, she would say : " Art is the reflection of the soul". Natalya goes with her gut and intuition to choose the colors, the lines, the shapes and the texture. She hopes her artworks will give a home a unique personality by filling it with life and color. Her sources of inspirations are Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, George-Daniel de Monfreid, Paul Gauguin. She also admires the artworks of Joan Mitchell and Banksy.

I have worked on a new collection of abstract paintings. This new abstract series is dedicated to a "heart- mind connection".
This abstract geometric artwork with squares is called "Story 0.2"
While working on this artwork, I was inspired by the idea that every person has its own story of the life with its ups and downs, with the moments of joy, happiness, loss and desperation.
This painting is particularly rich in red, blue and black colors mixed with golden color.
This artwork is done with acrylic paints on canvas on which a coat of High Gloss vanish was applied. It gives a painting a nice beautiful glossiness. It also protects the artwork from fading, dust, humidity.
The painting is sold unframed: it's ready to hang. The edges are painted in black.
