About the Item
This contemporary vibrant, expressive abstract floral painting, "Vase with Pink Roses", is a striking work by French artist Natalya Mougenot, renowned for her unique and bold artistic style. The piece bursts with energy, capturing a bouquet of pink roses through a dynamic fusion of colors and brushstrokes. Mougenot's signature technique blends varying shades of pink, green, and blue, creating an immersive, textured experience that invites the viewer to explore the lively, organic movement of the flowers. The impasto technique used here adds depth and tactility to the surface, making the piece feel alive with its vibrant palette and fluid execution. The surrounding blues and greens evoke a spring-like freshness, enhancing the joyful and vital atmosphere of the painting.
"Vase with Pink Roses" is part of Mougenot's Floral Series, where she masterfully blends expressionism, impressionism, abstract art, and naive art. This fusion allows her to channel her emotions and visions in a single, uninterrupted sitting—an approach that ensures her work remains spontaneous and unrefined. For Mougenot, each piece is completed in one go, creating an intimate bond between the artist and the canvas. Once finished, she feels a sense of release, allowing the painting to take on its own life.
Mougenot describes her artistic process by stating: "In my art, I embrace a blend of naive art and authenticity, drawing from the simplicity and directness that characterize naive styles. My work is grounded in genuine self-expression, focusing on raw emotions and personal experiences rather than technical precision or formal training. I intentionally reject artificiality, opting for an unrefined, spontaneous approach that reflects the purest form of creativity. This combination allows me to create art that is both heartfelt and honest, offering a unique perspective that resonates with sincerity and unfiltered expression."
Through her artwork, Mougenot embodies the interplay of authenticity and simplicity—two principles that shape her creative vision. Authenticity, for her, means staying true to herself and her emotions, while simplicity focuses on removing distractions to communicate her message clearly. This synergy results in work that is both aesthetically powerful and emotionally rich, offering viewers a profound, unpretentious experience.
Executed with oil paints on a stretched cotton canvas, "Vase with Pink Roses" features large edges and is ready to hang upon delivery.
It is a one-of-a-kind, original piece, signed on both the front and the back, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
The painting will be carefully packed in protective materials to ensure its safe journey from France to its new home.
Please note that slight color variations may occur between the digital representation and the actual artwork due to differences in monitor settings and camera quality.

Natalya is a contemporary artist from Lyon, France. She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes and low mountains. She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country. She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis when she was struggling with radical life changes. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now. Several years ago painting became more than a hobby. It became a way of expressing her emotions and visions, a successive reaction to events of either personal or general concern. Her artist statement: “ I paint as it’s a necessity for my soul to express itself. Being creative for me is overcoming the restrictions. My art is a piece of my soul. I hope my art inspires reflection, provides a release and forms connection at other people’s souls”. She has developed her own vision of art through practicing a lot. She makes use of varying degrees of figuration, abstraction and impressionism by adding a contemporary twist. Abstract art for her is an interesting challenge for understanding inner feelings, a self-expression based on an intuitive approach. In figurative art her main subject remains women. Her artworks representing women contain the raw emotions of women. She also communicates the importance and the power of strong female relationships: “Women are enriched when they bond with each other”. She works in series: among them are "Heart-mind connection" of abstract artworks, "Women", "Bond", "Florals", "Springtime"... She uses various mediums ( acrylic, oil, watercolor, oil pastels) to create her unique artworks either on canvas or on paper. But she mainly uses acrylic as she works very quickly and expressively by finishing her artwork in one sitting. If Natalya had to pick one quote about her art, she would say : " Art is the reflection of the soul". Natalya goes with her gut and intuition to choose the colors, the lines, the shapes and the texture. She hopes her artworks will give a home a unique personality by filling it with life and color. Her sources of inspirations are Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, George-Daniel de Monfreid, Paul Gauguin. She also admires the artworks of Joan Mitchell and Banksy.

By Robert Dunt
Located in Deddington, GB
Robert Dunt, Dian, 2016, oil on canvas, 142.5 x 142.5cm, original painting for sale. "For me these paintings are dealing with colour and space. I’m endeavouring to push simple colour combinations to their absolute limit. For example with this painting the colours pink and black. I wanted to make the colours resonate in our eyes as much as possible. To a degree I was working within the same sphere of investigation as the pointillists, like Paul Signac."
Robert Dunt paintings are available to buy online with Wychwood Art. Robert Dunt is an abstract/pop art artist who graduated from City & Guilds of London Art School (2004) with First Class honours. Robert Dunt paintings, prints and installations are inspired by music and explore the use of colour in a contemporary context. His practice has a rebel ethic that distorts art traditions in order to create surprising and original works: “Like putting Botticelli’s Venus through a Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face distortion pedal.” Rebert Dunt has exhibited nationally and internationally. He has had several solo shows - Madonnas and Housemasters, Charterhouse School (2015), Break on Through, Waterloo Gallery (2004) and I Wanna Trip You Up, Covent Garden (2004). Selected group exhibitions include Alien Beauty, Vyner Street; Fun House, The Empire Bethnal Green...
