The movement of optics silhouetted and contoured by straight lines and bare flat tints in their formless purity, for me embodies the Divine grace and luminous energy that the soul of a seeker acquires in this process of self gathering and spiritual realisation or discovery, a ‘journey within’ that accompanies this abstract creation of visual and rhythmic poetry reverberating and vibrating in directions to and from the center. Samadhi is a state of meditative absorption into a state of loss of separateness from its Ultimate essence and reality.
Neerja Chandna Peters enjoys navigating harmony through the play of lines with their symmetrical synchrony and rhythmic interplay, manipulating the nuances, their saturation and their values, thus creating a subtle movement of optics with their variable refrangibility.
In her compositions, lines and light are not mere aesthetic choices, but act as conduits that lead the viewer into a space of stillness and contemplation. Over time, the artist has come to understand that clarity often lies in reduction. A single color or the movement of a line can evoke a deep resonance when approached with intention.
This practice is as much about process as it is about outcome. It is about finding balance, not just on the canvas, but within. The act of creating becomes a reflection of this alignment, a moment when the finite touches the infinite, and the work itself becomes an offering.

Neerja Chandna Peters, a physician residing in New Delhi, has been practicing abstract art for fifteen years. Her unique take on geometric abstraction has been the subject of research and cited in peer-reviewed journals. She has held four solo exhibitions, including one at the New England Regional Art Museum, Armidale, Australia; two in Portland, Oregon, USA; and at Bikaner House, New Delhi.
