About the Item
Oya Bolgun is a visionary artist whose dynamic and ever-evolving abstract style captures the imagination and inspires the senses. Drawing on her deep passion for self-expression and her desire to connect with her audience, Oya creates works that are bold, innovative, and endlessly fascinating.
From her earliest years, Oya has been drawn to the arts, using any medium she could find to explore her creativity and express her emotions. Her passion for painting portraits and figures eventually evolved into a more surrealistic style that is uniquely her own.
Over the years, Oya has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the highly regarded Las Laguna Art Gallery LA-Outstanding Exhibition and Las Laguna Art Gallery LA-FAR AWAY PLACES Exhibition. She has also been recognized for her talent and vision, winning awards in several prestigious competitions.
Oya holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Anadolu University in Turkey, as well as a Master of Arts in Arts from Ball State University and a Master of Arts in Instructional Design from Brandman University in the USA. Her extensive education and training have provided her with the skills and knowledge necessary to continue pushing the boundaries of her craft.
In her paintings, Oya combines vibrant colors, bold shapes, and intricate textures to create works that are both beautiful and thought-provoking. Her use of texture adds depth and dimension to her paintings, creating a tactile experience that draws the viewer in and invites them to explore each work in detail.
Oya's paintings have been collected by art collectors around the world, including in USA, Germany, Italy, and Turkey. Her work continues to inspire and captivate audiences everywhere, making her a true innovator.
"I think of myself as a poet who uses colors, shapes, objects, and lines to write her poems. Not only the feelings that I try to
express but also the process plays a big role in my creation." --Oya Bolgun

Baby Moves - Honest and Balanced Original Figurative Abstract Textural Artwork
By Olympio
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Olympio, a prominent figurative abstract artist from Togo, creates artwork that is driven by an unapologetic sense of instinct. Olympio’s work is honest and palpable: exposed, raw, and direct. Through a bold use of color and texture, Olympio creates dynamic, multi-layered works that demand the viewer's attention. His work is an unfiltered manifestation of his soul. Bright, energetic marks encircle rough textures balanced by the peaceful compositions emanating from below the surface.
This 42 inch high by 36 inch wide colorful mixed media painting is signed by Kodjovi Olympio on the back of the canvas. The many layers in his work further emphasize the texture and visceral nature of his canvases. The painting is wired and ready to hang. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable U.S. and global shipping are available. A Certificate of Authenticity issued by Artplex Gallery is included with this original artwork.
Olympio was born into a large family of eight children in Lomé, Togo, West Africa. He began his creating art by using building scraps to make sculptures. By the time he was in high school, he started to experiment with mixed media and collage. He later transitioned to acrylic and oil on canvas.
In 2001, Olympio left his home in Africa to live in Paris. Olympio moved to the United States in 2003 and has continued to paint. His work has been exhibited at Art Basel Miami, where in 2018 he was ranked one of the Top 10 Artists by Red Dot Miami. He was also recently interviewed for France 2, TV5Monde, and the BBC. His work has been exhibited and collected internationally.

About Jennifer Bartlett:
By the mid-1970s, Jennifer Bartlett (1941-2022, b. Long Beach, California) had emerged as a leading American artist of her time—particularly following the landmark presentation at Paula Cooper Gallery of Rhapsody (1976), Bartlett’s magnum opus, now in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Bartlett’s first survey exhibition was held in 1985 at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, and traveled to the Brooklyn Museum, New York, and the Carnegie Museum of Art, Philadelphia, among others. In 2006, the Addison Gallery of American Art surveyed Bartlett’s early enameled steel plate paintings in the period from 1968–76. In 2013-14, Klaus Ottmann curated her second traveling survey, which visited the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Parrish Art Museum, New York. In 2014, the Cleveland Museum of Art united her three monumental plate...
