About the Item
Artist Comments
This piece is part of Pat's new "Moon" series. The paintings explore the wonder of the moon in its ever changing aspects. "Each full moon of the year has its own name," explains Pat. "Harvest moon is the full moon that occurs in late September at the autumnal equinox. It shines so bright that farmers can work long into the night by its light alone. Sometimes when I wake up late at night, the full moon is so bright everything is visible and amplified."
About the Artist
Pat Forbes is an abstract painter whose aesthetic is heavily influenced by her 20 years as a collector and dealer of Middle Eastern textiles. Pat, who lives on the Atlantic Ocean in Massachusetts, uses a neutral palette to present her interpretation of the world around her– from marshes and mountains to stones and spiderwebs. She is drawn to pattern and design, both of which influence the use of balanced repetition in her work. Pat’s muted colors invite pensive meditation, while her deliberate use of line guides the eye through satisfyingly symmetrical compositions.

"Acrobats and circus performers have always fascinated me with their lively gestures and colorful outfits," says artist Patrick O'Boyle. With an exciting application of bright and cheery colors, Patrick envokes the showmanship and energy of a live juggling act.
About the Artist
Patrick O'Boyle primarily paints in a studio, rarely using reference material other than his own thoughts and dreams. He always paints in a series of five - at the end of the fifth painting he revisits and reworks all of them until he feels they're complete. Using extra-long handles on his brushes, Patrick paints at a distance from the canvas so he can see the works evolve as a whole from the one color he starts with to the vibrant array at the end.
