About the Item
The French artist Patricia Erbelding (1958) is known for her unique technique in painting. She is a figure of the new scene in Abstract Art. For her works she uses oil paint, paper, ink, and beeswax.
She travels within herself, playing with light, getting lost in the stars, transcending figures, symbols and forms in favor of a search for the self and the universe through the slow pace of contemplation. Her abstract paintings are a writing from the ineffable, beyond the gaze, to the enigmatic depths, at the heart of the intimate emotion.
She grew up in France and most of her work is still produced in Paris, where she has her studio. Her multidisciplinary artistic work spans painting, collage, sculpture, photography, and artists’ books. Her work has been exhibited in museums around the world and she is included in many public and private collections.
