About

"Patricia Hernandez is a visual artist, arts educator, and founder of Studio One Archive Resource, a new nonprofit whose mission is to work with members of the Houston arts community to preserve its history. She moved to Houston from San Antonio in 1985 to attend Rice University from which she earned a B.A. in Art and Art History in 1989 and a B.F.A in Painting in 1990. In 2000, she received her MFA in Painting from the University of Houston and immediately began teaching at the Glassell School of Art. Her first lecture course was A History of Painting in Houston. Over the years, she has taught Drawing, Life Drawing, Painting, Design and Art History at the University of Houston Clear Lake and Houston Community College. In 2010, she had a solo visual arts exhibition at DiverseWorks entitled, Parody of Light. Her installation of objects and paintings commented on the practices of now deceased artist, Thomas Kinkade, Painter of Light."
