In this abstract oil painting, Dintino uses muddy colors to evoke images of garbage, swamps, and junk yards. The dirty green melds into the orange and creates a muddy orange, which then melds into a black, almost as if the colors were being infected. The painting almost reeks with the colors Dintino decided to use, as each one has its own aroma and pungency.
Dintino's work has to do with the melding of title and piece. His paintings all illustrate his ideas and words through visuality and color. Creating large panoramic pieces makes his work atmospheric and immersive, allowing the viewer to literally feel the title of his painting. This is quite a synesthetic approach to making art and allows ideas and words to sing.
Born in San Francisco, California in 1964, Patrick Dintino grew up in Sunnyvale, in the south bay area. He went to college in San Diego earning a BA degree in Industrial Arts from San Diego State University, and co-founded Artists in Motion art collective, a group of artists who created funk-art fashion, sculpture and furniture out of reclaimed materials. He also formed a musical group called 'Naked Earth,' and handled the art direction of Ecodisc Records. He moved back to the Bay Area and earned a Masters in Fine Art degree at the California College of Arts and Crafts (CCA) in San Francisco and Oakland in 2001.

Patrick Dintino paints vertical bands of glowing color in a horizontal or rectangular format that read as both a scientific representation of the spectrum and an emotional landscape of pure color.
Painted with oil on canvas mounted on wood board, the softly undulating stripes of light and dark generate their own kind of perceptual space, one that incorporates the naturally horizontal field of human vision. The titles of Dintino’s works — Eventide, Mirage, Ecstasy — allude to the subtle way remembered color is translated into an abstract configuration.
Born in San Francisco, California, Dintino grew up in Sunnyvale, in the South Bay Area. He went to college in San Diego, earning a BA degree in industrial arts from San Diego State University. He moved back to the Bay Area and earned a masters of fine art degree at the California College of Arts and Crafts (CCA) in San Francisco and Oakland in 2001.
Dintino was invited as a guest artist to work with Sol LeWitt to create “Sol LeWitt: A Retrospective” at SFMOMA. Since this time he was a finalist for SFMOMA’s SECA emerging artist award, and a Pollock/Krasner Foundation Grant recipient. His work is in numerous prominent private and corporate collections in the United States and abroad. He currently teaches painting at California College of the Arts.

Bay Area artist and art educator Michael Pauker was born in New York in 1957 and knew he wanted to be an artist from the age of 15. He earned a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts at SUNY Purchase in his native state of New York. In 1989 he went on to earn an M.F.A at Mills College in Oakland and was awarded the City of Oakland Artist Fellowship in Painting. He has been a Bay Area resident since 1988. His work has been exhibited widely across the U.S., as well as in Japan and Costa Rica, and is included in the collection of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
