A modernist abstraction drawing on elements of an open and welcoming landscape and big sky. "This piece possesses a clean geometric structure with a perceived low-level relief," explains artist Paul Kirley. "I also wanted to bring in a fresh spring palette to begin the year with hope and optimism."
About the Artist
Born in Massachusetts into a family of architects, designers and artists, Paul Kirley began drawing and painting by age two. From the beginning, he was influenced by his family’s connection to landscapes, buildings and a sense of place. In the fall of 1987 he moved to California to attend the Art Center College of Design. Inspired by architecture and a geometric translation of the natural landscape, he began to develop a signature style of work.
