Avant la Fête or “Before the Party” is a superb and vibrant work by Wemaere who is a well recognized European abstractionist in the tradition of the CoBrA movement. The high quality white lacquer frame compliments the work in a contemporary way that is fresh and elegant - along with a silvered leaf bevel near the canvas. His works suggest a slightly dream-like and fantastical form. The yellows and greens in the piece are alive and the piece reads very well in person! Framed: 21 3/4 x 26 1/2 and unframed it is 13 x 18.
