"Summertime, lunch, a martini, and swim time are the main elements of this piece," shares artist Rebecca Klementovich. "It reminds me of the South of France." Earthy greens provide a balanced backdrop to the bright teal of the lake while hints of red, orange, and pink pop throughout the mountainside and valley. "Another inspiration I had was to imagine Picasso or Matisse finishing up a little plein air session before heading back to Paris," quips Rebecca. "Either way, the warm colors, and the lake were my main focus."
About the Artist
Artist Rebecca Klementovich paints expressionist views of the New England landscape. Merging her lifelong interest in fashion, she co-founded the group Femme Fatales of the North. "We are painting in gowns on the tops of mountains and slapping paint on canvases," says Rebecca. "We are an example of who the northern women are as artists." Her colorful palette and gestural style draw influence from her long career in the fashion world. Rebecca studied fashion illustration at FIT in New York and worked as a textile designer and art director for over twenty years. After leaving New York, she moved to northern New Hampshire near Mount Washington. "The mountains are nostalgic and lyrical, and this greatly affected my landscapes." Today, she spends many hours observing the fields, forest and sky, and the changing seasons.

Artist Joey Korom displays a predominantly neutral-toned abstract in subtly organized structures. He executes the modern piece in adjoining gray shapes suggesting contemporary forms of architecture. The broad, loose strokes manifest his expressive and intense creativity.
About the Artist
Joey Korom is an abstract expressionist painter who has been a practicing artist for 50 years. He experiments with media, colors, and textures to produce artwork that is “purely optical;†that is, artwork meant to engage the viewer, visually and emotionally, without employing any associations outside of the work itself. Joey is passionate about this expressive type of abstraction, an artistic mode that escapes the rules of perspective and realism. His educational and professional background is in architecture, which he considers to be “the father of all arts.†The use of line, shape, and proportion in Joey’s work is visibly influenced by his experience as an architect, but he seeks to avoid the rigidity involved in architectural draftsmanship. He focuses instead on underlying structure, seductive color, and loose brushwork. The artist sees his style as a personal liberation from the demands of architectural drawing, and yet, he’s never lost the disciplines he was taught.

About the Artist
Pat Forbes is an abstract painter whose aesthetic is heavily influenced by her 20 years as a collector and dealer of Middle Eastern textiles. Pat, who lives on the Atlantic Ocean in Massachusetts, uses a neutral palette to present her interpretation of the world around her– from marshes and mountains to stones and spiderwebs. She is drawn to pattern and design, both of which influence the use of balanced repetition in her work. Pat’s muted colors invite pensive meditation, while her deliberate use of line guides the eye through satisfyingly symmetrical compositions.

Artist Pat Forbes depicts an abstract landscape with large towering structures under a murky atmosphere. "This piece reflects on the pleasures of traveling, and the joy of experiencing new and exciting places," says Pat. Uneven lines make up chunks of large structural shapes drawn close to one another. A green glowing sphere shines above the city that features prominent hues of blue, green, and yellow.
