René Romero Schuler
René Romero Schuler is a self-taught artist. In 1994, she received for that the honorable mention of the DAP Fund Houston. She lives and works between Chicago (IL) and Carmel (CA) - USA. Schuler's work has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions and has been included in numerous group exhibitions in museums and galleries around the world. The work of René Romero Schuler, which spans more than twenty years, includes paintings and sculptures. It is in direct relation with the current of Bay Area figuration, where stand artists such as David Park, Nathan Oliveira very influential in the work of Schuler as Alberto Giacometti.
The women that René Romero Schuler paints are self-portraits and the reflection of the human emotions that she has experienced in her life too colorful. Her approach is personal but also universal and essentially intimate. Her oil paintings where the raw material is expressed in deep colors give substance to slightly ethereal silhouettes. The background seems to tell the variations of the soul of the artist. Some of her silhouettes seem suspended and cross, with lightness the skyline. As deposited by magic, on the earth.
