About the Item

"Red Line" is a colorful contemporary piece by Indian artist Ritu Sinha. Mixing abstract expressionist with fauvism to create the conceptual spiritual work. Using colors and the sacred animal of Hinduism to represent the injustice Sinha sees in her home country. These paintings are from my series 'Frame of Mind' in which these paintings depict the role of women and their routine experiences of life." Ritu is an internationally collected artist with works in international institutions like the Pinacotheque. For more works by Ritu Sinha and special pricing, follow our storefront at Gallery 1202. Let Me Wrap My Dream - Contemporary Mixed Media Red + Green + Black + Grey
By Binay Sinha
Located in Gilroy, CA
"Let Me Wrap My Dream" is a contemporary artwork by Indian artist Binay Sinha. The imagery is a composition of many different textures, both artificial and natural. The bright red cloth is surrounded by shrubbery and an unknown manufactured texture. His surrealistic style captures the balance of flora & fauna, humanity, and city elements. Sinha's longing for the natural environment incorporates plants and natural textures into his works. This piece has a muted background with the central imagery vivid and colorful, commanding attention and consideration. From the artist: "Migration for employment from rural to urban areas has emerged. The history of migration is probably as long as human existence itself. Although the nature of migration has changed over time, factors that influence immigrants’ mental well-being largely remain the same. Migration for employment from rural to urban areas has emerged mainly due to agrarian stress in almost every part of India. This has raised many questions for me about what constitutes home and family. Is home a gunny sack...

Amit Kalla - Untitled - 60 x 36 inches (unframed size) Acrylic on Canvas ** Free Shipment ...... will be delivered in rolled form. Style : Kalla’s work can be represented by his commitment to experimenting with social engagement through the arts. It is here his strength lies. Through his deep connection to a cultural expression of a universal spirituality and passionate sense of humanity Kalla, continuously draws people from all communities into acts of creativity in the belief that through creativity people are empowered and communities move incrementally closer to truth. His poetry and paintings are spiritually intuited. While his poems create a secretive world of words, where silence speaks his paintings are calligraphic and draw on the same silent unknowing of invented texts. His paintings represent moments on the continuum; a slice snatched from his deeper hidden journey. The strength of Kalla’s work is that it represents an Indian artist’s quest for an indigenous tenor rather than a superficial inventory of native motifs, there is nothing about his work which relies on a static Indian Identity. About the Artist & his work : Born : 1980 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Education : 2005 - Masters in Art and Aesthetics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi 2003 - Graduation in Art History, National Museum Institute specializing in ancient Indian art...
