About the Item
The paintings worked on within this period (end of 2020 to the spring of 2021) return to my "paint is more" technique which I can best describe as not starting with a particular vision and loading paint to the canvas until something emerges. These canvases have many layers of paint, which are peeled, heated, sprayed with water, and repainted multiple times. While doing this particular painting, I locked into a muted green figure, which now is somewhat obscured but kept stenciling multiple shapes and colors over it. I then added linework and repeated. It has a richness and complexity that I like, and I always see something new while looking at it.
